What is this?

This is a Game, except during the day, and on foot. In these games, teams overcome challenges—often puzzly, sometimes physical, always fun. This game is in fact a "simulcast":

Seattle AreaBay Area

It is SNAP (Seattle and Nearby Adventures in Puzzling) 4.

It is BANG (Bay Area Night Game) 19. Please note that the winning team will be expected to host a future BANG event.

When is it?

November 1st, 2008. We're still figuring out the exact times, but you should plan on starting around 9 and plan on being done around 6pm or so.

Okay, where is it?
Seattle AreaBay Area

The Seattle Area. For security reasons, the UDC cannot reveal the exact location until closer to the event.

The East Bay. For security reasons, the UDC cannot reveal the exact location until closer to the event.

What if it rains that day?

Then you'll likely get wet. This is November - even in the Bay Area, you should plan for possible inclement weather by bringing an umbrella and warm clothing.

Who can play?

Everyone and anyone is welcome to form a team and play; teams of four or five - no more or less. If you've got four, you'll be fine - nothing requires five people.

One caveat: although we're planning on keeping it light, the theme for this event may prove frightening to young children.

If you need help finding extra teammates, check out Seattle GC or, if you're at Microsoft, try the puzzmate DL.

You can try the baybang group to find additional teammates.

What is the per-team cost of the event?

Seattle AreaBay Area
$50

$30, plus a small prize valued at ~$10.

Wait - why is the cost different for Seattle and the Bay Area?

There are a number of reasons why the budgets worked out differently. One was that in the tradition of SNAPs, the Seattle event will have a hosted after-party at a rented venue, and in the tradition of most BANGs, the Bay Area event will not.

How do I make payment?

The event is over! If you would like to still give us money, though... ;)

I'm busy that weekend - is there a way I can still participate?

You should contact us! There are numerous other ways you can participate, up to and including beta testing the event.

Sounds great - how do I sign up?

The event is over!

I've signed up and paid. Is there anything else?

Seattle AreaBay Area
On the day of the event, all teams must submit a completed waiver with signatures of all team members.

I didn't register in time!

Contact us! We can put you on a waiting list in case space opens up, and we can still use beta testers and help on the actual day of the event.

What if I have further questions?

We'll be announcing more specifics as the event approaches, but if there's something important we didn't mention here, don't hesitate to contact us.
